Events
Join us at upcoming events that educate and inspire on the topic of construction worker mental wellbeing!
The Minnesota construction industry is a cornerstone of our state’s growth and success, but it’s also a field that carries unique challenges, including a higher risk of mental health issues and suicide. To address these critical concerns, we are hosting a series of events dedicated to raising awareness, providing education, and inspiring change within our community. These events are designed to equip you with the knowledge and tools necessary to support mental health in your workplace and beyond.
At each event, industry experts, mental health professionals, and fellow construction workers will share valuable insights and personal stories, shedding light on the often-overlooked struggles that many face. You’ll have the opportunity to engage in open discussions, participate in workshops, and learn practical strategies for fostering a healthier work environment.
Whether you’re a construction worker, manager, or business owner, your presence and participation are crucial. These events are not just about learning; they are about coming together as a community to support one another, break the stigma surrounding mental health, and take meaningful steps toward preventing suicide within our industry.
Join us in making a difference. Together, we can build a stronger, healthier, and more resilient Minnesota construction community, where mental health is prioritized, and every individual feels valued and supported.

Vince Hafeli was almost a part of that statistic, and now he is on a mission to change the culture of the construction workplace. Vince Hafeli is an international speaker, author, and advocate for mental health and suicide awareness in the workplace. The President of Ajax Paving Industries of Florida, Hafeli has dedicated over 38 years of his life to the construction industry. Currently, he is working toward a Doctor of Business Administration to further his research and training skills related to suicide in the construction field, while developing approaches to increase support for worker’s mental health needs.
This video was a talk given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
